Ganesh: A Daughter of the Circus

The time for beginning a new piece coincided with the arrival in my Christmas mail of John Irving's A Son of the Circus, just in time for the long, dark, winter moon of storytelling. I beaded by day and read by night, and the result was Ganesh: A Daughter of the Circus.

Ganesh, represented by an elephant, is a popular Indian god, commonly thought of as a god of prosperity and overcoming obstacles. I have worked fourteen elephants into this piece.

Materials: fourteen elephants, mother of pearl, Indian mirror bead, South African wood beads.
