Beaded Coils

What I love most about this series is the complexity I can get by working from one simple stitch -- the peyote stitch. The peyote stitch is one of the oldest handweaving techniques found in cultures all over the world.

In this series, I choose this old simple stitch and exploit its endless possibilites to creat texture, form, color patterns.

This is how I make these!
Starting with a long handwoven piece, I wrap around a sterling ring.
